hot chocolate on a stick

I first saw  this hot chocolate on a stick from Mareth's blog, Lime Riot (you should seriously check out her blog, it's awesome!).  It looks pretty easy to make (no baking required!) so I made a mental note to include this in this year's list of homemade gifts.

Here are some photos I took while making them (I now have a spot for my camera in my kitchen to make it easy for me to remember to take photos of what I make there, lol).

Mix all those chocolate-y goodness together on low heat.

Pour chocolate in a pan lined with parchment paper.

This is how it looked like after an overnight rest.

Slice to cubes.  I sliced mine into 5 x 6 to make each cube slightly bigger (recipe said 6x6).

 Here they are in sticks...

Inside the little plastic bags...

And with the marshmallows on top and ribbons to finish.  I just added the store-bought ones (but you can certainly make your own marshmallows... check out the recipe via Lime Riot).

Here is how I packaged them.  I put 2 sticks in a bag topped with a festive ribbon.  For the tag, I used Papertrey's Limitless Layers Circle die and Everyday Treats stamp set.  I used "Hot Cocoa Mix" as it was the closest to hot chocolate mix I can find.

I attached some drinking instructions at the back of the tag.

And here they are all lined up...Makes me happy looking at them!

I also left some on individual packs. One of them will be for Santa on Christmas Eve (wink, wink).

Are you making some homemade treats this season?

Thanks for stopping by!
