DT inspired projects

One of the first challenges on Papertrey's anniversary celebration is to create a project inspired by the DT's (design team) favourites.  I have done a few based on Danielle, Cristina and Heather's favourites.  You can find them here, here and here.  Today, I want to share what I created as inspired by the rest of the DT's favourites.

First up is Ashley.  Here is my card.. I used Papertrey cardstock (kraft, dark chocolate), stamp (strawberry patch, fillable frames, mega mixed messages) and die (fillable frames, strawberry patch).

It was inspired by Ashley's second card below.

Next up is Betsy.  Here is my card.  I used Papertrey cardstock (white), die (flippin' up), stamp (wreath for all seasons) and patterned paper.

It was inspired by Betsy's last card below.

Next is Dawn.  Here is my card.  I used Papertrey cardstock (kraft, white, dark chocolate), stamp (rosie posie, beautiful butterflies) and dies (sending you, rosie posie).

It was inspired by Dawn's fifth card below.

Next we have Debbie.  Here is my card.  I used Papertrey cardstock (black and white), stamp (harvest berries) and ink (smokey shadow).

It was inspired by Debbie's third card below.

Next we have Erin.  Here is my card. I used Papertrey stamp (around and about), patterned paper and cardstock (kraft).

It was inspired by Erin's third card below.

Next we have Jessica.  Here is my card.  I used Papertrey stamp (sweet life, pretty peonies), dies (sweet life, pretty peonies, turning a new leaf), patterned paper (bitty dots), twine and button.

It was inspired by Jessica's second card below.

Next we have Maile.  Here is my card.  I used Papertrey cardstock (soft stone), stamp (up, up and away, movers and shakers sentiments), die (up, up and away) and ink (smokey shadow).   This was actually a CASE of one of Maile's cards.

Here is how it looks like opened up.

It was inspired by Maile's fifth (interactive) card below.

Lastly, we have Melissa.  Here is my card.  I used Papertrey cardstock (kraft, sweet blush, berry sorbet, hibiscus burst), die (notched flowers, turning a new leaf) and stamp (beautiful butterflies).

It was inspired by Melissa's third project below.  It is actually a tag which I interpreted to a card.

Whew!  If you reached the end of this post, thank you!  Hope you are having a fabulous evening.

watercolour challenge

Hi crafty friends!  Today's challenge over at Papertrey's anniversary celebration is to create a project that uses some type of watercolour technique or look.  Watercolour is one of the growing trends currently. And Papertrey is coming out with a gorgeous set called Watercolor Wonder.  Can't wait to get my inky fingers on it!

Here is my card...

I used Papertrey's Wildflowers set, cardstock (new leaf, harvest gold, stampers white) and ink (berry sorbet and simply chartreuse).  I also diluted some pure poppy refill ink with water and swirl it around the floral image using a watercolour brush.

I also used one of Heather's favourite cards as my inspiration for this.  Here is her card.

Thanks for stopping by!

colour inspiration challenge

Today's challenge over at Papertrey's anniversary celebration is on colour inspiration.  Nicole put together six colour stories to choose from.  We are tasked to create a project utilizing one of the colour schemes.  This is the colour scheme I chose to work with.

And here is my card...  It is not a colour scheme I would normally use but that is what a challenge is for, right?

I used Papertrey cardstock (stampers select white, lavender moon, plum pudding, hawaiian shores), ink (hawaiian shores) and hexagon die.  I did not have a blueberry sky cardstock so I just used a similar one from my stash.

I am also entering this on Papertrey's design team inspiration challenge.  I used Cristina's card below as my inspiration.  I have always loved her CAS style!

Thanks for stopping by!

papertrey sketch challenge

I am back for another quick post for a challenge happening over at Papertrey.  This time, it is a sketch challenge. Nicole gave us several sketches to choose from and here is what I chose.

And here is my card...

I used Papetrey's dies (take three and butterfly dreams), spring moss cardstock, Birthday Basics stamp and black patterned paper.

I have to work with very limited supplies today since I left most of my crafting tools at the Crop and Create venue.  Good that I have some cut outs left lying on my crafting table.

Have a great Sunday.  I'm off to day 2 of the Crop and Create event. Bebsy should be here soon!

craftmates at crop & create

packaging challenge

Hi again crafty friends!  This is my second post for the day.  The first one is here

I am here for another Papertrey anniversary challenge.  Have you seen all the gorgeous packaging Papertrey is adding to their line.  Check it out here

Today's challenge is to create some type of wrap, tag or gift packaging project inspired by a photo you found on Pinterest or another site.

Here is my project.

I used Stitches and Swirls, Tag Sale die and bitty dot patterned paper.  I have this linen bag from Craftmate Virna which I used to package a set of cards to be given as a gift.

It was inspired by the this project created by Debbie Olson.

Now, I am off to the Crop and Create event. Bebsy is now downstairs waiting for me, ha!

Have a fabulous weekend!

pwp #14 - first craftshow

As you read this, the Craftmates are most likely having  the time of our life crafting at the Crop and Create event.  Never mind  that it starts at 8 in the morning and goes on until 12 midnight (and starts again at 8 tomorrow!).  Yes, folks, we are committed to be there from start to finish (I am just not sure if there will be a quick dinner and movie involved in between, ha!).

So anyway, since we are celebrating everything crafty this weekend, I think  it is quite fitting that I share with you the layout I made of the first craftshow we did last November.  Here is the link to the post we did on  this previously.

I have never been good at selling stuff (that’s why I never worked on sales) so I was not really expecting  to sell any during  the show.  The only reason I was there was to spend some time with my girls (and maybe have a free cupcake or two!).  But, boy, did we sell  and what a lot of fun it was!  We were even treated with a surprise visit from our sweet friend, Cindy, from North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Here is my layout...

I am entering this in Leigh Penner’s Pages with Papertrey.  The challenge  is to use elements repeatedly in your layout.  I used the splatter stamp from Precious Remembrance across the page and I also repeatedly stamped it within each cluster.  I am not sure I am in love with this whole splatter look.  But I went with it just to try something new.

I was surprised though how much I love the colour black in this layout.  I would not normally go with black as a colour for patterned paper but I love it here mixed with my other bitty dots paper and how it is repeated with our black tops and black tag outline.  Here's a close up of the journaling.

I used Papertrey bitty dots paper, large oval dies, modern alphabet and script dies and simple sunflower stamp and die.  I also used a DCWV cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!
