I knew I would use my stash to make a vintage sheet quilt but I kept putting it off because I have never made a proper quilt before.
When I found this tutorial from "The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking", I got so excited because the instructions were super easy to follow and I did not have to do any "binding". For the quilt I made, I only used three of my vintage sheets, two for the front and one for the back.
Check out the frayed edges. The more you wash the quilt the better it looks. |
Perfect for a picnic this summer. |
Till next time!
What a great Virna, and a wonderful way to use up your stash of sheets! Enjoy making the log cabin quilt; I'm sure you'll manage the binding very well and it will be another skill under your belt.

DeleteI really love this, so summery and fun! What a great stash you have!
ReplyDeleteI have a big quilt that is just waiting for binding, eek! Except I'm not using separate binding but rather folding over the backing to bind. I've never done it before - hope it works ok! I want to do a log cabin next too!
Thanks Suki! I hope you'll post your quilt once you've finished the binding.
