The first day of school is always a major event for me.  It is a big deal for me to see my DD embark on a new adventure – new classmates, new teacher, new experiences (along with her new backpack and shoes, lol).
Here is a layout I made of her first day to capture that special moment.  I got the apple idea from Elena’s blog here.  She makes the most gorgeous party decors, cards and photo shoots.  When I saw the same apple in our local store, I knew I had to have it for a photo opp with my DD.
I used Papertrey Tag Sale die and true black cardstock.  I stamped an Every Elle stamp (Framed Fonts) with white ink from Papertrey and wipe it a bit using a sponge dauber to create a chalkboard effect.  I also used cards from Project Life and Me and My Big Ideas, enamel dots from Teresa Collins and patterned papers from Simple Stories.
I am also linking this to Leigh Penner’s Pages with Papertrey Challenge #11 here which is to include an element in your page that you want to preserve (other than photos and journal).  Here, I asked my DD to write her name so I can preserve her handwriting at Senior Kindergarten.
Thanks for stopping by!
