Meet Mr. Foxy

I am happy to report that Tiffany is doing well. In fact, there's really nothing wrong with her. It turns out that I was using the wrong presser foot....duh! I overreacted and thought that the part holding the needle was bent when in fact it was really built that way. The repair guy had a good chuckle and told me to read my manual.

Yay! I'm so happy that I can sew again and don't have to spend money buying a new sewing machine.

Before having Tiffany checked, I was able to make another felt ornament from the Craft-A-Day book. Meet Mr. Foxy - he's cool, suave, and dashing.
How you doin?
Here he is in Paris
At the Alhambra.

I really enjoy making felt crafts and I plan on making more of these to sell on our next craft show.

Till next time!

The Gnome Project

Last week, my beloved Tiffany gave up on me. I was busy sewing a project with quite a thick batting when all of a sudden I heard a whirring sound and a click...uh oh!

I checked and found that the part where the needle is located was bent. The needle was still intact but it was the part holding the needle that was damaged. The thickness must have been too much for poor Tiffany

I'm off to have her checked tomorrow to see if the damage can be undone. I hope it will not cost a lot of money, otherwise, I may have to replace Tiffany. Actually, my dream sewing machine is a Bernina or a Janome but they are quite pricey for my budget. I need recommendations as to what sewing machine I should buy (if repairing Tiffany is not possible). So please leave a comment. I would love to hear from you.

So, what's a girl to do without her sewing machine....well in my case, I went back to basics and started sewing with my own pudgy hands. I finally used one of my craft books and started making the Gnome Project.

Here's the little gnome ornament I made using felt and embroidery thread.
Isn't he cute? Here he is in his little forest.

And here he is with his girlfriend.

You'll probably see more handmade projects from me for a while. In the meantime, I need to know if Tiffany can be repaired. Wish me luck!

Till next time...
