Craftmates love everything crafty, pretty, and sweet. What could embody these qualities more than a tea party! It has been a while since we've had a tea party so we decided to throw a get-together for two of our friends who were celebrating their birthdays. Unfortunately, our fellow craftmates, Irma and Bebsy, had previous engagements and could not join us that day.
The guests were required to wear a hat or a fascinator |
To welcome our guests, the front door was decorated with a wreath made of succulents, embellished with a sweet, mini "tea party" bunting.
Carnation centre pieces adorned the dining table along with a variety of tea served in tea pots. The mismatched tea cups and saucers added whimsy to the table setting.
We made scones from a recipe we found at allrecipes.com. They were easy to make and delicious. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed them with the creme fraiche and strawberry jam that we served. Savoury finger foods and delectable pastries completed the tea service.

As a sendoff to our guests, we filled tiny muslin pouches with tea bags. The “thank you” tags and bags were hand-stamped for added personal touch. We are sure our tea-loving friends will be happy to wear the “I love Tea” buttons purchased from this etsy shop.
We had so much fun planning and organizing this tea party for our friends that we can’t wait to plan the next one.
Enjoy!
WOW, what a fun and beautiful tea party. The theme is so well thought out and the food just looks so yummy. My favorite is the first photo where you are all dressed up for the event. Too bad all of the Craftmates could not make it.
