Throw Pillow Covers

Throw pillows can liven up a neutral couch or sofa and add a pop of colour in any room. I recently sewed some throw pillow covers for our living room to brighten up our slightly drab sofa. I found a tutorial from Sparkle Power for an envelope style removable pillow cover and they are a breeze to make. Here are some of the pillows I made.

Bright lime green chevron print

I bought the fabrics from Tonic Living which is an online store that sells awesome fabrics. They also make custom made window treatments and cushion covers.

Here are all the pillows together
My next goal is to make covers with zippered closures. I am a little bit intimated with zippers so wish me luck.

Happy Sewing!

  1. I am not a lime person, however love the other colours and did they ever add to your couch ... so very nice, Virna !

  2. Virna,

These are so adorable! My favorite is the mustard and the grey. I really like the patterns! I would love to try zippers soon as well, but haven't worked up the courage. They look so lovely! :)

  3. I LOVE these! Great job. Recovering pillows is on my to-do list. (Thanks for stopping by my place!)

  4. Virna,

I'm crushing on your pillows. I love the fabric selection. And actually, I really like your sofa as well. It has nice clean lines! Do you mind mentioning where you purchased it?

    Thanks for sharing,

  5. This is too cute! Found you on My Life in a Nutshell! I would love it if you would link some thing up to my craft & recipe linky party going on now!

  6. They look great on your sofa. Good luck on the sippers. I can do a sipper but I do not like putting them in.
    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Your cushions look lovely! There is nothing like being able to sew your own furnishings! Love the room too, looks very inviting.
