fort erie

I am back with another layout I made for DH's birthday last month. We went to Fort Erie and visited the old fort where we were transported back to a time of gray fortress walls, soldiers' barracks and powder magazines.

Here is another way you can incorporate printed journaling in your layout.  The other day, I did it horizontally on this layout.  This time, I tried doing it vertically but using the same principle.  As long as you have a side that is shorter than 8.5 inches, you can print it in you regular printer. Just  try to print a draft on your scratch paper first so you can see and estimate where it will land on your layout.  This time, I covered the seam with a strip of patterned paper where I placed my photos.

I used Papertrey's stamp (grunge me), die (block alphabet) and cardstock (hibiscus burst, harvest gold, hawaiian shores, simply chartreuse), Martha Stewart cardstock, October Afternoon's Sidewalks patterned paper and Simple Stories sticker embellishments.

Here's a close up of the journaling...

And the title...

With her silly smile and Peace Bridge on the background

Here is another layout I made trying the collage technique again. The sticker embellies at the lower right corner were not supposed to be there.  But after an ink accident, I had to do a cover up :)

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Great layouts, Irma! I love using computer journaling and have had to get creative like this, too. I love your bottom layout, though--- such a happy mistake if you had to cover up the bottom right hand corner, because the end result looks wonderful!
