pages with papertrey challenge # 12

I have always loved the look of a picture collage.  However, I do not want to overdo it to the point that it looks cluttered (maybe the OCD in me, ha!).  So I tried a layout with a collage of pictures just on one side of the page.

I am also entering this in Leigh Penner's latest Pages with Papertrey Challenge. The challenge is to use patterned paper to create your title.

This was taken during our strawberry picking outing for the season.  This is the first time that DD really enjoyed going through the plantation searching for the perfect strawberries.  There were very few and small left since we came at the very last day (I need to put this in our calendar next year). It was actually a last minute decision as I was going through my Papertrey stash and wanted to use this beautiful strawberry set in a layout :). So I went online to see if there were still any farm open for strawberry picking (thankfully, there was still  one nearby!).  Win-win for both me and DD!  (Does that happen to you... creating an event so you can use your stash?).

I used Papertrey stamp (strawberry patch), dies (block alphabet), Martha Stewart cardstock, washi tapes, October Afternoon patterned paper and Simple Stories sticker letters.

Here is a close up of my collage.

And here is a close up of my journalling. I mentioned before that I am partial to printing out my journalling because I am not too fond of my handwriting.  This is no exception.  I was very tempted to re-do the entire page so I can print out my journalling instead of handwriting it.  But I did not have the time and I already love the rest of the page.  So that will do for now :) Who knows? Someday, my DD might appreciate more seeing my handwriting instead of a printed one.

Thanks for stopping by!  It is a long weekend for us tomorrow so we are heading to the beach.  Hope you have a good one!

  1. This is fabulous, Irma! I love the polka dotted title, the stamped strawberries and your collage placement of the photos. I think the white space your included is perfect!
And one day, your daughter will treasure having layouts with your handwriting on them, I promise!
