Welcome to the next installment of Party Week over here at Craftmates. Hope you have been enjoying the posts so far.
Today, I am sharing with you my DD's 2nd barnyard birthday bash. Again, just a heads up, this is going to be a long post with lots of photos. Just sayin'.
If you ask my daughter what pet she wants to have, she will answer "sheep, horse and cow". Those are her absolute favourite animals. When she was around 2, we went to farms more than zoos because she completely adores petting them. So for her second birthday, we went with the barnyard theme. With a fall birthday, I wished hard for a gorgeous weather so she and our guests can enjoy an outdoor party. And with good luck, that was what we exactly had.
For her barnyard bash, we went with a black, white and red colour motif. Do you see the sheep she was carrying? She lovingly calls her Baba and it has been part of our family since my DD was just 1. She never goes anywhere without it.
Sassy Sewer Virna created this outfit for the birthday girl |
Craftmates arrived early to help in the set up. Can you see the 4 of us?
Tissue paper pom-poms again making an appearance. This time, I attached cute farm animals underneath.
Here is the photo booth and the props that guests can use.
Cake Connoisseur Bebsy and family show us how to use them.
Crafty Bedazzler Aimee whipped up yet another yummy batch of chocolate and red velvet cupcakes topped with those adorable piggy and cow faces.
For the loot bags, I ordered them online here and they already included some farm-themed items for the kids.
To personalize it a bit, I created name tags for the kids and attached them to the boxes. They can later use them as bookmarks if they want.
I also made these cute crayon rolls from a tutorial I got from here.
Then, we also had pony rides for the kids.
And some play time at the barnyard play area. It has swing sets, loose hay, slides, rock climbing wall as well as toys on the floor and tables for the toddlers like the celebrant. (sorry, I don't have good photos of this).
We also played games. One of which is the pinata where Bebsy served as master of ceremonies.
Here is the birthday girl enjoying her barnyard cake. What a delight to see her smile like that!
The kids also got those fun animal visors |
Virna and Aimee -- cutting ribbons to hang our pompoms |
Aimee and Bebsy -- just finished with setting up the balloons |
Do you notice our western plaid shirts? |
After the party came the thank you cards. Here is what I mailed out this time.
And here are some of the layouts I made... The titles were mostly cut from my Cricut machine. And the patterned paper are bought from the same place as the loot bags.
Here is the invite which I custom ordered online. Maybe the last time I will not handmade my party invites |
And here is what we did on her actual birthday. We went for a pancake breakfast that day and spent the afternoon in an indoor play area with bouncy castles.
Too much fun, Irma. I would have like to have jumped right in your photos to join right in.
