After I discovered Papertrey, I stopped giving store-bought cards but instead make my own. For the cards I give my DH, I usually tuck it in within my page protectors and therefore not really visible when one flips through my scrapbook binder. But here is a layout I made of our Valentine lunch this year which incorporates the card I gave him.
I used Papertrey stamp (postmarks, fresh alphabets), die (heart border, postmarks and wonderfu words) and cardstock. I also used SU's heart punch and patterned paper from Fancy Pants (Love Story collection).
Here is a close up of the card...
and the heart border (which I cased from one of Maile's (PTI DT) cards, I think)
Creating this layout reminded me of an older Valentine layout I made which also incorporated my card. You would notice that I was still very much into Cricut at that time and only used one Papertrey product in this layout-- the word "Love" from Mega Mixed Messages, lol. (Mega Mixed and Birthday Basics are my first 2 PTI sets. I figured at that time that in order to create cards, I only need patterned papers, my Cricut machine and a few sentiment stamps for the outside and inside of my card. I couldn't have been more wrong!)

and my fun embellishment then. (Actually, it is not too bad. I now miss my Cricut (a little). It's just that it takes more time to cut all those tiny pieces, esp if your mat is not that sticky anymore.)
I love our picture to the left :) |
My first thought was how much I loved how you used the Postmarks set to spell out the title... and then I read what you wrote and realized that this was a card you'd made. Fabulous! You have me sorry that I sold my Postmarks set!
