imagine with elmo

I made a quick layout of one of our downtown trips to watch one of my DD's favourite characters, Elmo.  From time to time, Rogers Centre hosts musicals for kids that are just begging for us to make that trip downtown.  And since my DD grew up watching and loving all her friends from Sesame Street, we just had to go (eventhough she is really over her Elmo phase).  So here is the layout I made.

It was a lot of fun seeing Elmo, Zoe, Big Bird, Ernie and Bert go through lots of adventures that teach kids that they can be anyone, do anything and go anywhere with the power of imagination. After the show, my DD told me she wants to be a pirate just like Ernie.  Here is a close up of how thrilled she looked when Elmo first appeared on stage...

I used Bazzill cardstock, Papertrey dies (block and script alphabet, limitless layers oval) and SU and Cosmo Cricket patterned paper.

If  there is one thing about my DD, it is that she is passionate about meeting her favourite friends.  Two years ago was her Dora phase.  Last year was her Barney and Thomas phase.  I had to research where these characters will make an appearance so we can make sure we are there, front and centre.

Here is the layout I made with her meet and greet with Dora.  I obviously have not discovered Papertrey yet at that time :).

Then, here are the layouts I made on the two occasions she met Barney, BJ and Baby Bop.  It was priceless to see how her eyes lit up the minute Barney appeared on stage.  Barney was like a rock star to all those kids.

See how happy she looked at the sight of Barney!

And after the show, she had to have her special hug with Barney.

And here she is with Thomas...

Whew! That was a lot of stalking but very well worth the effort!

  3. Great layouts, Irma! I have photos of Sage with Dora at the Mall of America two summers ago (here's the link if you'd like to check it out: http://www.leighpenner.blogspot.ca/2011/07/one-last-attempt.html)

  4. How exciting for your DD to get to meet her favourite characters! I wonder if my son would like that or if he'd find it scary? He can be a bit sensitive that way!

He did once get to meet Thomas - in fact it was the original, real train on which Thomas was based, which we found quite amazing, though I suspect he'd have been just as happy with a lookalike! We rode in Thomas and even went through a tunnel - all the kids loved that bit ;)
